Larry Fleet – BUS WRITING

Question: Tell me about writing on the bus with “Things I Take For Granted” & “Man Made A Bar”
Larry Fleet: “Yeah, so sometimes whenever I go out on the road, I’ll bring another bus, and I just have a couple of buddies, you know, 2 or 3 guys, and, well, they’ll be out there and whenever, you know, during the mornings, we’ll get up. And I got my little routine to do and we’ll work out and do different things. And then I’ll go on the bus and we sit down and we try to write songs and, so. This one weekend we were out. I had it was me and Jordan, Darcy, Brett Tyler and Rocky Block. And, first time I’d written with with Jordan or Rocky. And so we’re, you know, kind of meeting each other and sit down and, and, I think it was the first day we were out, we wrote “Man Made a Bar” and “Things I Take For Granted” in the same day. And so that was, and at the time, you don’t really know what what you’ve done, you know, it’s like, yeah, we’ve wrote two good songs, but on to the next one. You know, we just kind of you’re always just trying to write as many songs as you can and see what you come up with. And we just got really lucky and wrote both them songs in the same day. And that weekend I think we wrote 6 or 7 songs. So, and I, I may have cut a couple more and, I think there’s a couple other guys looking at. So, so that was a really good weekend. And, I would like to, you know, reproduce that one day, but I don’t know if you ever will or not.”
