1. Any secrets about the show?
“No. I think the biggest secret of all when it comes to The Bachelorette that I learned is that it’s so real. It’s more real. And people would think like it’s normal people trying to find love going on very extravagant dates and extravagant places, but it’s very real and to the core of it, very organic and like trying to find a connection with somebody. So that’s probably the biggest secret I learned. But it’s funny because it’s like the secret is that there is no secret, you know?
2. Who was your favorite bachelorette couple over the years?
“Oh, probably Jojo and Jordan. That was like one of the only seasons I really got super invested in. And they’re still together and I think is really cute. They’re really awesome.”
3. What was it like performing to them?
” Well, it wasn’t really to them. If you watch the episode, you’ll know Rachel actually sent the guy home before they were able to come in and see me and Bret perform. So we just performed to an empty theater with Rachel at the back of the room. And at first I was like, This is going to be so awkward. Like, What the heck? But then I remembered when I wrote Never Till Now, I wrote it from a place not having met my person, but as a manifestation for my future person. And I’m still in that place as a single girl, you know, looking for that kind of future love. So it became a full circle moment, realizing that like this is now the same meaning to her, a manifestation for somebody down the road. And I hope she finds that person because she’s really incredible. So it wasn’t awkward at the end. I thought it would be, but it wasn’t.”
4. Any of the guys stand out?
“So funny enough, I didn’t actually get to meet any of the guys. If you watch the episode then you already know this. But the original performance with Bret and I singing Never Till Now is supposed to be this like intimate concert for Rachel The Bachelorette and the guy that she was on the day with. But the date didn’t go super well, and so she ended up sending him home before we performed. So we just performed to Rachel in a seemingly kind of like empty theater in L.A. So I didn’t get to meet any of the guys, but I really hope that Rachel finds somebody by the end of the season because she’s an incredible girl and it’s so much fun getting to talk to her.”
5. What was it like performing?
“Getting to perform on The Bachelorette was so much fun. I’ve watched the show for years, so it was really cool to get to, you know, kind of be a part of the magic of what happens behind the scenes. And the crew was amazing. The cast was amazing. It was just a really unbelievable, fun experience.”
