Question: Where did the vision of the video come from?
HARDY: “So the night that I got the demo back, which was a year and a half ago, two years ago, it was a long time ago. I was so excited about the song. I knew it was going to be a song for me and I just had a really good hunch that it was going to be a single. So I sat down and I wrote the whole video treatment that night, the same day that we wrote the song. I was just so inspired by it. Yeah. Justin Clough brought it to life. Pretty much follows the storyline. But I think the cool part is, is how it starts. It’s almost in reverse and it starts out with me in prison and Lainey testifying for me in court. I think those two performance shots were the kind of the meat and potatoes of the music video, something I’m really proud of.”
