Question: Why do you love your song “your place”?
Ashley Cooke: “Oh man, honestly, I love this song so much because not only do I see people like responding to it and connecting to it so much, which is such a big deal as an artist to have a song people use as their anthem. But for me, it’s such a pivotal point of regaining your strength. Like, you know, I’ve been in relationships kind of on and off before, and this song was really the moment that I put my foot down to say, no, like, this is where I draw the line. You treated me terribly. It ain’t your place anymore to know this. And so it really kind of signifies regaining your strength after a bad relationship. And that’s important for anybody to have that kind of anthem for that time of their life.”
