Question: What is “your place about”?
Ashley Cooke: “Your place. Oh gosh. This song is about a relationship that I was in, and I was, you know, traveling the world’s, um, doing all the music things. And I found out that the person I was dating was cheating on me. And of course, we broke up. And shortly after we broke up, he tried to come back into my life and, you know, ask where I was and what I was doing and who I was with and all those things. And I’ve been in, you know, some back and forth relationships before, and I’ve gone back a couple times. And this was kind of the the first time that I really put my foot down and, and kind of regained my power by saying, it ain’t your place. You don’t get to know those things anymore. And the song is kind of an anthem for anybody that’s been through a pretty tough time in a relationship and thought about going back, but realize it’s just it’s not their place anymore, and they get to move on and kind of regain their strength.”
