Question: Do you have any traditions with the band?
Hailey Whitters: “My band and I have a road tradition, so it’s called The Rule of the fishbowl. And if we ever stumble on a bar on the road and the bar serves fish bowls, we have to have them. Everyone in the band has to have a fish bowl. It’s a rule any time. So we do that. We got pretty, pretty lit in Columbus. I think one fish bowl turned into three, and we were all feeling really, really bad the next day. Luckily, it was an off day. We weren’t playing a show, but, the rule of fishbowl, man. It bites.”

Question: Why do you love this song so much?
Ashley Cooke: “Oh man, honestly, I love this song so much because not only do I see people like responding to it and connecting to it so much, which is such a big deal as an artist to have a song people use as their anthem. But for me, it’s such a pivotal point of regaining your strength. Like, you know, I’ve been in relationships kind of on and off before, and this song was really the moment that I put my foot down to say no, like, this is where I draw the line. He treated me terribly. It ain’t your place anymore to know this. And so it really kind of signifies regaining your strength after a bad relationship. And that’s important for anybody to have that kind of anthem for that time of their life.”

Question: Do the kids have their own bunk?
Larry Fleet: “Yeah, well. And he has his own boat and he wants to sleep on the top, but we make him sleep on the bottom, because if he falls out, it won’t hurt his bad. And there’s a good chance he will fall out of it. So he falls off of everything. But, so he’s on the bottom, and then Stella see she got her own bunk, but she wants to sleep with mama. And so, usually instead of me, getting to sleep in my own bed in the back, I usually have to pick a bunk out, which is right next to Waylon. And then me and him sit and talk when he’s supposed to go to sleep. He wants to talk about everything. So we lay there and look at each other and sit and talk all night, and then finally have to fight him to go to sleep, you know.”

Question: What’s it like performing cowgirls live?
ERNEST: “It’s super fun. It’s so different than performing flower shops live, which is also a special moment. But cowgirls, I get to set the guitar down and move around and, it’s really fun. The crowd seems to enjoy it too.”

Question: How are the kids?
Larry Fleet: “Well, my kids are good. They got Stella. She’s, about to be three and Whalen will be five in August and they’re awesome. They’ve been we’ve been fortunate enough that, you know, as this thing has grown, we we now have our own bus. And so, for years, you know, I had to leave them and stay going all the time. And it was tough, you know, for when they’re real little, they don’t really understand. And they just looking, you know, to hang out and and eat food, you know. And so mama would always take care of them, you know. And then now when I leave, it’s harder and they want to know where I’m going and what I’m doing, and they love being a part of it. And so, like I said, we’ve been fortunate enough that now I got, you know, two busses going on the road and one of them is me and my family. And so I get to spend a lot more time with them. And, and they get to see what, what their daddy does. And they have fun. They love everybody in the band. And Waylon comes out on the stage a lot and does his thing is he’s a superstar. And, Stella usually sleeps during my show. So, you know, it’s something for everybody, I guess. But they’re doing good, and and there are a lot of fun and fun ages right now, so.”
