Question: How did you share the song with Caleigh? HARDY: “When I played it for Caleigh, it was when my producer sent me the link to the entire record. And then when that song came up in the in the cue, my heart was beating like so fast. And we were actually driving around and I told her I was like, okay, I have a surprise, and I’ve waited a really long time for this, but I wrote you like officially a song and it’s called Caleigh Song, and this is your song. And when the when the part hit at the end, we had to pull over and I’m never I’ve never seen her cry that hard in my life. And that was like the most fulfilling reaction I’ve ever. Gotten. It was so special and it was so cool and meant so much to her. And that means so much to me. And I just, I love it.”
Question: Any after show rituals? Larry Fleet: “Most of the time we get on the bus and it’s midnight and we leave. So as soon as I get on, I go to my bed. I watch Swamp People. I watch Discovery Channel. History channel. You know any of that stuff? Pretty much on them channels. That’s what I watch. So I just lay in my bed and watch that, and I’ll quickly go to sleep.”
Question: What do you love about being on the road? Morgan Wallen: “Well, I mean, yeah, I think my obvious answer and true answer is just seeing the way the songs impact people, you know, because everybody tells you all these stats and all these numbers and, you know, you broke a record or whatever. It’s like, it’s cool, but there’s no way to put that as like a tangible piece of, you know, an experience. So it’s cool for me to experience what it’s actually doing, you know, when it connects with those people. So that’s my favorite. But yeah, I enjoy just seeing new things and being out there and just seeing different cultures. I don’t get to spend a lot of time in those places. I like golfing on, you know, in new places. I get to do that sometimes.”
Question: What snacks are on the bus? Larry Fleet: “We have a few things, but there is a chip drawer. So at any point in time you could find Cheetos or Cool Ranch Doritos. But my favorite is, hot and spicy or Tabasco. I don’t know if they do the Tabasco anymore. They just come hot and spicy Cheez-Its. Kind of a favorite of mine. I’ve been doing that for years. And I’m a dr Pepper Zero. Yeah. So he used to drink Coke, zeros and Diet Cokes. And I’ve always loved doctor Pepper. It was always my favorite. And then all of a sudden, one day they come out and we get doctor Pepper Zero. I said, let me try this. And it tastes just like the real thing. It’s the best thing ever. So at any point in time, you walk on as best you find hot and spicy Cheez-Its and doctor Pepper zero. It’s pretty wild. And we party, you know.”
