Question: Where were you when you heard “Favorite Country Song” for the first time?
HARDY: I was driving back to my deer camp from Florida to do some deer hunting stuff, and I pulled onto the dirt road that goes to our deer camp, and it came on the radio station. And that station is 97 OKK in Meridian, Mississippi, and it was like the coolest, most like serendipitous thing ever, because from that dirt road to our actual deer camp is like where I went in my head when I wrote that song about like what all of the things, you know, all of those. Vignettes or little things that you hear in the chorus and the second verse, that’s all off of that road, so it was really cool to be there when I heard it for the first time.
