Question: What food do you like to try on the road?
Charles Wesley Godwin: “Well go to anytime there’s like an off night. I love steak steak houses. So I like going to a nice steak house And having the band and crew all out and us having a nice meal together. So i I really enjoy that um, and then something that’s a must on the rider is um is We’ve been doing these turmeric ginger like immunity shots and the you know, they’re like filled with like cayenne pepper and things like that too, but uh, you know at this stage in life, I think it’s uh keeping us all pretty pepped up and we cheers that like it’s an actual like shot of something. So we’ve been doing those immunity shots the last couple of years. So that’s something that’s on the rider that we enjoy every single day, every time.”

Question: Are there any dream collab writers you’d like to write with?
Charles Wesley Godwin: I’ve gotten to do that this go-around. I got to write with Lori McKenna, Tom Douglas, Tony Lane, Scooter Caruso, Aaron Ratier, Travis Meadows, some amazing writers. But yeah, so it’s been a fun experience to get to have the opportunity to do that, have the support system around me now with the label and publishing and stuff to be able to write with some of these folks that I’ve really admired. For years and I think it’s making me, Liz Rose is another one too, how could I forget that, right? And it’s been a fun experience to get to do that for the first time and I think it made me a better songwriter going forward.

Question: Tell me about your community at home!
Charles Wesley Godwin: “Yeah, I’m born and raised in Morgantown, West Virginia, and proud to be a mountaineer, graduated from WVU, obviously, and I think it’s a great place to raise a family, and that’s what we’re planning on doing. We’re planning to raise the kids there, and I love living there. It’s a small community. It’s my community. Everybody there is either watching me grow up or growing up with me, and it’s just a nice, it feels like a bubble. It’s a comfortable place for me to be when when I’m off the road”

Question: Tell me about being a dad of three!
Charles Wesley Godwin: “It’s insane, it’s insane. It’s just nonstop, those kids are up before me and I wake up early too, and you know, until 7.30 bedtime, it is one, it’s a marathon every day and I love it. I’m gonna miss it when they’re older.”
