Question: Tell me about this Health nut kick..
Larry Fleet: “Well, the health nut thing is a it’s a movement, really. I started me and my bass player Crazy Legs. If you’ve ever been to one of my shows, you know, my bass player, he’s. He’s got his own fan group over there. He’s. He looks like Gumby out there and around. His legs are all over the place. He dances. He’s he’s a he’s a right. I love him and he’s been with me the longest of anybody. And back when I was playing bars and I could barely afford to pay him at all anything. He was with me and he’s been with me through the whole thing. And so. The health nuts come from me and him sitting around, I guess around, you know, Covid times and maybe a little bit before that. And I said, hey, look, we need to go exercise or something. Let’s get out and do something. So he had a mountain bike and I went and got me one, and we just decided we were going to go round trails around Chattanooga. I was living in Chattanooga at the time, so we, met up and there was a parking lot, and it was a Whole Foods. Neither me or him have ever been into a Whole Foods, but I was like, let’s just meet there. It’s a good parking lot. And so I did an Instagram story and I was like, look at those health nuts hanging out the Whole Foods. And, you know, here we are. And so we. That’s how it began. And then we we get on the bikes and we rode around and we were just kind of being goofy at first and. Both of us are really out of shape and and Eric go crazy legs. He will have to pull over and smoke cigarets to catch his breath, you know, from time to time. But, it became a thing and we started doing that almost every day.”

Question: Tell me about touring with Billy Currington & Kip Moore
Larry Fleet: “At this point I’m where I’m at I just want to have a good time. And so Billy hit me up and said, hey, let’s play some shows together. And me and Kip were already writing songs together and been friends for a while, and he said, me, you and Kip, let’s go do something. So I said, man, I sounds like a good time. It’s mostly, you know, amphitheaters and and cool outside shows. And, I’m a big fan of both of those guys. And like I said, just friends. And not to sound like a good time.”

Question: Do you have a house update?
Larry Fleet: “Yeah. We actually bought a house and had some land and stuff, and then the permitting and everything kind of got a little weird. So I was lucky enough to be able to sell that house and found one that was actually what I was wanting to build. And, and we got, we got some land with it and stuff and, but yeah, the house I was trying to build was I was like, man, it’s going to be so cool. It’s got everything I want. And then I walk into this other house and I just happened to find it wasn’t even on the market. And they just said, yeah, we’ll sell it to you, walk in. And it was pretty much the exact house I was trying to build. So I bought it. And we love and it feels like home and it’s it’s just the kids love it and we have fun. My dog Melvin the bloodhound, he just runs about and trees, you know, squirrels and stuff all day and hollers around the yard. So I’m sure the neighbors love us, but we we have fell in love with it.”

Question: Any preshow rituals?
Larry Fleet: “Well, I usually try to give, a pep talk, which turns into some sort of comedy routine. But, we all get a good laugh because we try not to take ourselves too serious. We take the music serious. We want to sound good, but we also want to laugh and smile. And we want people to laugh and smile and and dance and have a good time. So we try to project that and show everybody that we’re having fun. But pre-show, you know, I got daddy, don’t drink on here. I quit drinking probably two years ago, I guess, and a lot of the other guys don’t drink in the band. So we get together and if you watch a lot of people stuff, they’re like, oh, we do a pre-show shot. We do a pre-show shot of Red bull to get us kicked off and go. And because, you know, we’re old and stuff, but it’s, it that’s what we do. We always do a shot of Red bull to really fire us up. And we we go out and just have as much fun as we can have.”

QUESTION: Tell me about Things I Take For Granted
Larry Fleet: “Yeah. Things I take for granted. That’s a special one for me. We, we were out somewhere playing. And this is a bus, right? So had the bus out, right. And and, me and Rocky block, Jordan Dozzy, and Brett Tyler. Good little crew. We wrote a bunch of good songs that week. But anyways, we were standing in the parking lot and talking about something, and I said, yeah, man, this is things we take for granted. And I said, well, we to write that. And so we did. And it’s just kind of about taking time to soak in the little things and pay attention to those because, you know, time slip away from you. And the little things you take for granted are actually big things you should be paying attention to.”
