Question: Tell me about your shopping and style..
Hailey Whitters: “I don’t really shop. I hate shopping, but, what I will do is I wear a lot of hand-me-downs. So I go home and I, like, raid my sister’s closets. I like to go to vintage stores or, like, thrift shops. And I’ll just do, like, a big haul and just buy a bunch of things. And then kind of just wear them for a season. I do a lot of, like, custom stuff because, I love wearing these kind of, like little frilly. Someone called me Little Bo Peep recently, and she meant it as an insult, but I took it as a compliment. I like to just be creative and fun, and so I’ll sometimes hire some people to, like, make me some really cool staple pieces.”

Question: what do you always have on the road with you?
Hailey Whitters: “I take aqua for with me everywhere I go. It’s kind of like, you know, my miracle thing. I use it as hair balm, I use it as moisturizer, I use it as chapstick. Um. It’s just oh one and all thing for me. Um, also on the road, I have to take a sleep mask. I really have to take a sleep mask. Like, we sleep in so many places. Sleep is so irregular. So putting that on every night really just helps me. Helps knock me out. Um, my third thing on the road that I always take my white pair of cowboy boots. Um, you know, we’re on a lot of flights, and I never check a bag, so I really just throw in my same old pair of cowboy boots every time.”

Question: How does it feel to have your own headlining tour?
Hailey Whitters: “The headlining shows are really fun because we get to play more of the record. Um, and it’s just been so soul filling to like be able to look out and see people singing along to even the deep cuts on the record, you know, um, the songs that you’re kind of like. I don’t even know if that song anyone got to hear that song, you know? But to be able to play these headlining shows and look out and see them singing along is a really cool feeling.”

Question: Do you ever do any thrifting on the road?
Hailey Whitters: ” If I have time. I do go thrifting on the road. There was a place I went to in, um, Minneapolis. I’m trying to remember the name of it I would place was really cool. But yeah, I will thrift down the road if I have time.”
