Question: Tell me about your band
HARDY: Um, I, so I have two guitar players and a drummer and man, they are all unique in their own way and I just, I have such a great relationship with my guys and you know, it’s, it, it it’s we’ve been through a lot and we’ve had to have like really, uh, you know just sometimes like difficult conversations and things like that, but they always, they always resolve. And I think that just builds for like a really strong relationship. So I can’t say enough about how great my band is on stage and, and off. I My favorite thing to do on tour outside of playing the show is literally, let’s just say we tied one on the night before and my favorite thing do is get off of my bus and go get on the band bus and just sit around and shoot the shit with them for hours and we just laugh and make jokes and it’s just, it’s the favorite part of my day, so.”

QUESTION: Tell me about your openers on tour?
HARDY: “Okay. So let’s see, there’s a bunch and a lot of them are like trading off. But, uh, the, the constant is McCoy Moore, who’s gotten to be a good buddy of mine. He’s a younger artist, but he’s really great. Um, he’s got a great voice. He’s got really good songs and, uh I just, I have a lot of faith in him, man. I think he’s going to be, I think. He’s going be a star one day. And he’s also just a great human being and a really great person to tour with. He’s, he is going and we, we, he opened for me last year and he got to ride in on a bus. Cause it was just him and an acoustic guy, but he’s got his whole van this year. And so he’s going to be in the van and man, he’s gonna be, he is going to be tired. I love, I love watching people like kind of earn their, earn their keep a little bit or, or earn their stripes rather. And, and cause we’ve all been there and anyway, but okay. So McCoy, we’ve got Mitchell, 10 penny long friend of mine. He’s doing some dates with us. We’ve got muscadine bloodline, which they’ve had like a crazy, like I would call it like a resurgence. Cause they were really big, like 10 years ago. And this grassroots, you know, kind of thing. And, and I would never say that they went away, but I just didn’t hear anything from them for a long time. And then Post Malone has shared an interest with them. I’ve been seeing them on like social. Anyway, they’ve been going crazy. Then I have Tucker Wetmore, who’s everybody knows Tucker. He’s blowing up right now. I’m really excited about that. And then Cameron Whitcomb, who is a Canadian guy who is like killing it right now and he’s doing some really cool stuff that I don’t know much about him. I don’t really know him. So I’m excited to get to know him some.”

Question: Tell me bout the scrapyard story
HARDY: “Oh, so my manager sent me the, he did, he sent me, dropped the pen and he was like, hey, you should stop by here. There’s your billboard. You should go check it out. And when I was in back in my hometown in Philadelphia, Mississippi, and so I rode out there and the closer I got, I was like oh, this is close to Scotty’s. And then sure enough, I’ll pull in this parking lot and there’s my billboard for country country. And. I realized that it was right there in the parking lot of the Scotty’s, which was a gas station, convenience store, but behind that is a place that, is a scrap yard, scrap metal. And when me and my buddies were broke, I would go, we’d go out to our deer camps and go down in the woods and find old plows and mattresses and just things that were metal and just get any scrap metal we could and we’d load it up on a trailer. And take it to Scotty’s just to get an extra 30 or 40 bucks for beer drinking money or whatever it was in high school. And anyway, it was cool, very extremely full circle moment for me.”

Question: Anything crazy happening on tour in Meet & Greet like tooth pulling?
HARDY: “Pulling the kid’s tooth was wild and we had to get like you know visual consent from his parents like don’t sue me if something crazy happens but nothing nothing too crazy has happened yet but we’re only halfway through the tour so never say never.”
