Question: Where did you write “A Song To Sing” / writing process?
Miranda Lambert: “We wrote this song at Jesse Frazier’s studio in Creve Hall here in Nashville, and Jesse and Chris have been working together forever. And Jesse and I really just started working together not that long ago, probably four or five years ago, but he just has such a different style. He makes amazing tracks, so it really pushes you out of your just three chords in the truth comfort zone, which I love. And we started to really hone in on writing together a lot, just me and Jesse. And he shot a text to Chris and was like. We’re doing this if you want to come and Chris showed up and we had a great day. We sort of we wrote two songs and but this song felt like I don’t know. I called Chris and Morgan and was like, I think we should put this together. Like we should go cut this and like make it a thing because otherwise it’s just going to sit there and nothing’s going to happen. And and I feel like it’s too good to just lay around. And so they agreed. ”

Question: Tell me about Big Loud Texas..
Miranda Lambert: “Big Loud Texas is one of my favorite things I’ve ever got to work on. John Randall is one of my best friends and collaborators and co-writers and friends. And I just, I trust him so much. And he came to me with the idea of Big Loud, Texas. And I loved it. I thought I get to work with my bestie and really cultivate the newer music that’s coming out of this state that has produced so much amazing art, you know? And We’re proud Texans and we want to keep the music coming. We want to the outlaw movement going. We wanted to, you know, bring sort of a central artistic hub to Austin, Texas, which is now our office in Austin. And it is, it’s hopping right now. Like it’s been people in there every day writing songs. And I’m just really proud that like, what I’ve built as a Texan and out in the world with my art has like led me back home to be able to help other people build the same thing.”

Miranda Lambert: “This song, I think we wrote it two years ago. So, and then we cut it last year in Savannah. We went down to Dave Cobb Studio in Savannah and worked on it for two days. And it was, it was really a vibe.”

Miranda Lambert: “The overall message in RUN is to be true to you and to be understanding of where you are and where you’re standing, where you need to go. Recognizing that is a huge thing. ”
