Question: If you weren’t a singer what would you be?
Ashley Cooke:I was a corporate communications and marketing major at Belmont, so I think the not-fun answer would be probably just a normal marketing job of some kind, but the fun answer, I would love to be a Dolphin trainer in Hawaii.

Question: What is a favorite snack of yours on the road?
Ashley Cooke: “Ooh, I’m a big meat sticks girl. I love chomps, but I’m at big turkey chompeds girl. And honestly, this is kind of crazy hot take. My favorite snack on the bus is dipping turkey chomp in peanut butter. It’s crazy. Everybody judges me for it. I don’t know, but call me crazy. It’s a good protein filled snack. It has a little nuttiness with the peanut butter and I don’t know, I’ve gotten a hankering for it now I can’t stop eating it.”

Question: What do you hope fans take away from “The Hell You Are”?
Ashley Cooke: Man, I hope they have fun with it. I really do. I think, obviously, the meaning behind the song is kind of putting your foot down on an emotional situation, but I think that they just, I want people to just have fun when they listen to it. I hope that they can play this in their car and turn it up to 10 and feel like they’re just having a fun day and just get to really vibe with it, you know?

Question: What is your coffee order?
Ashley Cooke: Yeah, right now I’m definitely a black coffee girl, black iced coffee with extra ice. There’s a new place in Nashville called La La Land that I’m obsessed with that has really, really delicious, you know, flavorful stuff. But typically if I’m drinking coffee, it is an iced coffee, black, extra ice.

Question: What is your favorite thing to cook?
Ashley Cooke: Yeah, honestly my favorite recipe is my mom’s tried and true recipe. She makes a turkey bolognese pasta and it’s delicious. I think it’s like my death row meal, for real. It’s one of those things that if it was my last meal on this earth, I would crave it. Basically it’s just like homemade meat sauce and pasta. And it’s really easy to make and that’s all we really can ask for. My last name is Cook, but I’m not exactly the best cook, so.
