Question: Do you find yourself writing more love songs now that married?
HARDY: “No, I don’t mean I don’t write I don’t know. I don’t cut love songs and I don’t know why I don’t cut love songs, but it’s always there’s always, like a big redneck twist to any, like, love song I’ve ever cut. And but it’s been like that since the beginning. It’s like “this old boy” was very redneck and “I’ll Quit loving You” is about like, I’ll quit loving you when all this redneck stuff happens. And “boyfriend”, I guess maybe not so much. But on this new record “I in country” is the same thing. And I write love songs like throughout the week to pitch to other people. But I’m just not a big love song guy. Caleigh.. I’m sorry”

Question: Tell me about the boots reference in Truck Bed?
HARDY: “Yeah. So I referenced Boots in the song and stuff that was, you know, the songs subject matter are so similar that why not reference it, you know, to maybe be in on the joke and make fun of yourself a little bit because they are very, very similar songs. We play them back to back at our live show. And so yeah, it’s that’s a final reference.”

Question: Who did you write “TRUCK BED” with?
HARDY: “I wrote “TRUCK BED” with what I call the dream team, because we’ve written a lot of great songs together. Ben Johnson, Hunter Phelps and Ashley Gorley. We wrote “Give Having Some Hell” together, along with a bunch of other songs and hits and stuff like that. But we collaborate really well together.”

Question: Okay so what happened with your hair going crazy at ACM performance?
HARDY: “The static was a complete accident. My guitar player, who’s kind of a nerd, said that the stage was made out of a type of plastic called Mylar, which is the same thing that CDs are made out of, that it can tax a lot of electricity. And it actually happened in rehearsals. And my manager Seth, came in and he was like, Do did you see your hair? And I was like, No. And he was like, It’s shot up, like got struck by lightning or something. And he was like, If it does that again, that’s going to be super cool. So it was a complete accident.”
