Question: Tell me about your “Unlocked” EP
Lauren Alaina: “I just released an EP called Unlocked, which I am so proud of. I think the thing that I’m most excited about, the new music, is it is truly country music. And really the number one goal for me was to represent the girls in my hometown. I wanted to record music that would make them proud and say that girls from where I’m from because I really am just a small town girl from Georgia, and I’ve been all around the world. And it seems like the further the more places I go, the more I just want to be back home. And from where? Back home where I came from and spending time with the people that made me who I am. So I was very intentional with this new music to really try to represent the girls in my hometown and myself, obviously. And I’ve been in the studio with Joey Moi, who in my opinion is the best producer in all of music. It’s been so fun to work with him and he’s really challenged me to step the music up and make the best music of my career. And I really think we’re doing that and I can’t wait for people to hear the other stuff we’ve recorded. But right now I’m just kind of living in excitement and being in the excitement of being proud of the app. So if you haven’t listened to it, please check it out. It’s called Unlocked.”
