Question: Tell me about Brendan writing a song with you…
Miranda Lambert: “Brendan is actually a really good writer. We started writing in 2020 just out of boredom, like everyone did weird stuff, you know, And he was pretty good. And John Randall and I are longtime collaborators and co-writers, and we were we are co-producers on this record as well. And so we were doing pre-production, which means drinking tequila, talking about songs. And he picked up a guitar and that always leads to a song. And Brendan was sitting in there watching the game and of kind of kept popping in and I was like, If you’re going to if we’re going to do this or we’re going to like do a three way co-write right now, you’re have to win the game off. And he had some of the best lines in the song, and he had been kind of living out the story of the song with me. So who better to have insight than the person you live with and bitch to every day?”

Question: Seems like you had fun with this record. What is the vibe of your new album Postcards From Texas?
Miranda Lambert: ” I did. There’s a lot of humor on this record, and it’s it’s really fun. You know, it’s I try to put some in every record, but this one seems a little more light hearted and a lot more songs than I normally do. I think that’s just because I’m happy. Like I, you know, I want the music to reflect a little bit of everything and, you know, have all the emotions wrapped up in one record. But definitely think humor a big part of that.”

Question: What made you want to record the album in Texas?
Miranda Lambert: “I wanted this album to be.. I wanted to make it at home. I haven’t made a record in Texas since I was 18, and my little independent first record I ever made, so I felt like just being really the 10th album I’ve made and with a whole new label and whole new team, I just wanted to kind of go back to the root of where it all started.”

Question: What plans do you have this year?
Miranda Lambert: “Plans outside of working are releasing a record. Touring. And outside of that. Riding my horses and just making sure that I spend time with friends and family and my animals and keep that balance.”

Question: Do you have a busy show year coming up?
Miranda Lambert: “There are a lot more tour dates we are playing all the way through the end of the year. I think our last one is December 27th in Deckerville, Oklahoma. So y’all come see us on the road.”
