Morgan Wallen – FAVORITE THING ON THE ROAD

Morgan Wallen – FAVORITE THING ON THE ROAD

Question: What do you love about being on the road?
Morgan Wallen: “Well, I mean, yeah, I think my obvious answer and true answer is just seeing the way the songs impact people, you know, because everybody tells you all these stats and all these numbers and, you know, you broke a record or whatever. It’s like, it’s cool, but there’s no way to put that as like a tangible piece of, you know, an experience. So it’s cool for me to experience what it’s actually doing, you know, when it connects with those people. So that’s my favorite. But yeah, I enjoy just seeing new things and being out there and just seeing different cultures. I don’t get to spend a lot of time in those places. I like golfing on, you know, in new places. I get to do that sometimes.”

Question: What snacks are on the bus?
Larry Fleet: “We have a few things, but there is a chip drawer. So at any point in time you could find Cheetos or Cool Ranch Doritos. But my favorite is, hot and spicy or Tabasco. I don’t know if they do the Tabasco anymore. They just come hot and spicy Cheez-Its. Kind of a favorite of mine. I’ve been doing that for years. And I’m a dr Pepper Zero. Yeah. So he used to drink Coke, zeros and Diet Cokes. And I’ve always loved doctor Pepper. It was always my favorite. And then all of a sudden, one day they come out and we get doctor Pepper Zero. I said, let me try this. And it tastes just like the real thing. It’s the best thing ever. So at any point in time, you walk on as best you find hot and spicy Cheez-Its and doctor Pepper zero. It’s pretty wild. And we party, you know.”

Question: Do you and the band have any pre-show rituals?
Larry Fleet: “Half the band don’t drink anymore. And so you always see people doing shots, you know, before shows. So we still do that. But we do Red bull because we just, you know, trying to get some energy up. And so it’s like, all right, let’s do our shots. So we always do shots of Red bull just to get us fired up. And then usually I’m trying to give him a little pep talk you know. Which is mostly I’m not good at that. So I just try to joke around and then we we get a good laugh, we do a shot of Red bull, and we hit the stage. And that’s pretty much what we do. I mean, people stretch, they do their whole thing. I do that too, just so we can move around and you get kind of stove up just sitting on these busses all day. And so it’s a it’s a nice time to kind of like stretch and get warmed up. I mean it’s like going in for us… It’s like game time, you know. So I just want to be limber, flexible and and hopped up on energy drinks.”
