Question: What’s your favorite drink? Hailey Whitters: “I’m an every drink kind of gal. I’m an any drink kind of gal. I will drink beer. I will drink vodka. I love to drink tequila, whiskey. Shoot whiskey. I’ll do just about any of it.”
Question: What do you like to do in your free time? Hailey Whitters: “In my free time. I like to hang out with my dogs. I have two pups, an Aussie shepherd named Rawley and a Blue Dog beagle named Josephus, and I like to take them to the dog park. We like to go hiking and stuff, but really just sit in my back yard in a lawn chair, crack cold beer, or hang with my pups.”
Question: What was it like filming the video for “Everything She Ain’t”? Hailey Whitters: “Making the music video for “Everything She Ain’t” was so fun. A little known fact about me. I was the homecoming queen of Cow Pie high. Everyone called my high school Cow Pie high because it was out in the country and all the city kids always, you know, call us Cow Pie High Kids because it was my high school was a bunch of farmer kids and country kids. So that is a true story. And you can see in the video I get crowned the Cow Pie High homecoming queen, but it was just so much fun to make. It really took me back to those days in high school.”
Question: When did you write Everything She Ain’t? Hailey Whitters: “This song was probably one of the last songs I wrote for the record. I think the song’s only about a year old maybe. Yeah, it was one of the last things we cut for my record Raised, but it was also one of the ones, the last ones that we put on the record. So it’s kind of a special song. It’s going over very well with the fans, so I’m very excited to have it out and to see the response on this one.”
Question: How’d you go about writing “Everything She Ain’t”? Hailey Whitters: “We started that day writing this really dark, moody, spaghetti western kind of song, and I don’t know if it just felt heavier or what, but we totally took a 180 and Ryan started playing this really light boppy kind of music and the hook, everything she is and everything, she kind of just popped out of nowhere. And I think we wrote the entire song in like an hour. It happened so fast.”
