Question: How fun is performing new songs live?
Miranda Lambert: ” Yeah, playing the record, like getting to play new songs live for the first time is so fun because you sort of get actual feedback from the fans. Armadillo was like a fan favorite right off the bat, and I was hoping it would be because it’s just such a great song. I can’t take credit for writing it, but I tried to deliver the best I could.”

Question: How was Europe?
Miranda Lambert: “man, Italy was so great. It was my first time to ever go to Europe at all without work. Like, I’ve only flown to Europe in my whole life for like, work and then made a fun trip out of it. But this was just specifically for a vacation. So I kind of had this weird guilt about it at first, but we, we, I needed it, you know, especially before an album push and to finish out the year with like, you know, all the work I’m doing it was a good reminder to take breaks that’s important you know. But it was awesome. The food was great. Florence is my favorite, I think, because it’s just an incredible city. And me and Brendan just wandered around and a pasta and pizza. And then I came straight home to do a fitting, which was not fair. It was like for all the work coming up, I was like, that was bad planning.”

Question: What was your first big purchase?
Miranda Lambert: “When I signed my first record deal at 19, I bought a four Wheeler. That’s how I got home. My dad had it to like three years ago. Like. Like they don’t make those kind of anymore.”

Question: Anyone your starstruck over?
Miranda Lambert: “I always feel so starstruck around George Strait. I can’t even say starstruck because it’s George. I mean, I try to be cool, but I’m not. And he knows it and I know it, but I still I give it my best.”

Question: Tell me about Brendan writing a song with you…
Miranda Lambert: “Brendan is actually a really good writer. We started writing in 2020 just out of boredom, like everyone did weird stuff, you know, And he was pretty good. And John Randall and I are longtime collaborators and co-writers, and we were we are co-producers on this record as well. And so we were doing pre-production, which means drinking tequila, talking about songs. And he picked up a guitar and that always leads to a song. And Brendan was sitting in there watching the game and of kind of kept popping in and I was like, If you’re going to if we’re going to do this or we’re going to like do a three way co-write right now, you’re have to win the game off. And he had some of the best lines in the song, and he had been kind of living out the story of the song with me. So who better to have insight than the person you live with and bitch to every day?”
